DS 5 - SID problem

Hello all...I am new to the forum.

I am wondering if anyone can help me on an older DS system. Every time I open the DS software it gets hung up and freezes after trying to load any file. I have reloaded the software now and I run the DS System Diagnostic and I get an erro that says, "LicenseGetInfo Error: Cannot Find SID number" Everything else checks out fine except this and it still hangs up everytime I try to open a sequence....

Please help!!

Read this topic for starters.

Basically, you have to make sure that
a. license server runs
b. dongle is readable by the license server
c. there is a valid .lic file installed

Yes, I read that but that is mostly referring to the dongle not being read. The license path, license and flexid are all found but the only thing missing is the SID.

I have checked the licensing tool log and it says under the checking flexlm and it says: no previous flexlm installed detected. Flexlm driver needs to be installed. Could this be the problem and if so how do I fix it?

SID is inside of the .lic file. There is a dongle ID which supposed to match your dongle and there is a SID, which is just a number. They both are in the .lic.

Flexlm driver needs to be installed. Could this be the problem and if so how do I fix it?

Duh!
There is a separate installer for FlexLM on the distribution disk.
